Grilled Gruyere Sandwich

Ingredients

For the onions:
  • 1 white onion
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoon Pepper
For the sandwich:
  • 1 white onion
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 8 slice rye bread
  • 8 slice gruyere cheese
  • 1 slice white onion

Preparation

Baking Directions:

Julienne white onion and toss with olive oil, kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Roast at 350 degrees until caramelized.

Let cool.

Place enough cheese to cover each inside of the rye bread.

Spread a thin layer of roasted onions on one side of cheese.

Cover with other piece of bread.

Place sandwich in press and cook until sandwich is toasted.
