Combine the rich creaminess of hot chocolate with the warm spices of gingerbread into one delicious drink. One sip and you'll be transported right back into the cozy holiday season. 

Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 3 cups half & half
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise pod
  • cups white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Mini marshmallows, for garnish
  • Gingerbread cookies, for garnish

Preparation

1.

In a pot, heat milk, half and half, vanilla, molasses, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, bay leaf, cloves and star anise until steamy but not boiling, or to 180 degrees.

Combine white chocolate chips and brown sugar in a bowl.

Strain the milk mixture into the bowl, pouring over the chocolate chips, whisk until the chips and sugar are melted.

Pour the mixture into mugs and garnish with toasted marshmallows and crumbled gingerbread cookies.
