Ingredients

Tuxedo Brie Bites
  • 1 (7 ounce) wheel of brie
  • 1/4 cup honey (or mustard if you prefer a savory-only flavor)
  • 1/4 cup black olives, pitted
  • 16 round crackers (such as Carr’s water crackers)
  • Chef notes

These cheesy little bites will be the best-dressed guests at any event! Use black olives to dress up wedges of brie or camembert for your New Year’s Eve party.

Swap option: Don’t like brie? Try triangles of white cheddar or another favorite cheese instead!

    Preparation

    1.

Cut the wheel of brie into 8 wedges, then divide again crosswise to make 16 brie triangles (each wedge should be about ½-inch thick).

    2.

Spread honey on the cut side of each triangle of cheese and place it honey-side down onto the cracker (The honey works as the “glue” to hold the cheese in place but another condiment like fig jam would work well, too.)

    3.

Slice the black olives thinly, then cut them into small triangles and squares. These are the “bow ties” and “buttons.”

    4.

Use a toothpick to arrange the olive pieces into a row of buttons down the center of the brie wedge, and then create a little olive bow tie.

    5.

Serve on a tray right away or refrigerate the cheese wedges until it's party time.
