Chef notes

Made with a navel orange (nearly always in season from California), plus orange juice, this sipper is loaded with over 500 mg potassium and is a sunny way to start your day.

Ingredients

  • 1 navel orange, peeled
  • 1 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey

Preparation

Section orange; transfer to a small freezer-safe container. Cover and freeze until sections are very cold, about 20 minutes.

In a blender, combine yogurt, ice, orange juice, honey and frozen orange sections and blend until smoothie. Serve in 2 glasses.
