Dinner poutine: Fries with thinly sliced steak, cheese, gravy and sautéed onions

Ingredients

  • 16 ounce frozen french fries, the skinny kind
  • 8 ounce beef gravy
  • 2 teaspoon maggi seasoning
  • 12 ounce rib eye steak – cooked and thinly sliced
  • 1 ounce small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil or butter

Preparation

Baking Directions:

Cook fries to package instructions but you want them nicely browned and crunchy.

In a small pot mix the gravy and Maggi seasoning until hot and bubbly.

Cook onions with oil or butter in a nonstick pan until lightly browned and caramelized.

Break up the cheese curds if using, or dice the mozzarella.

In a bowl, layer as follows: fries, steak, cheese, gravy mix and onions.

Season to taste with freshly ground black pepper and kosher salt.
