Ingredients

  • ounces silver tequila
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec
  • 1/2 ounce agave syrup or simple syrup
  • 2 jalapeño coins, seeds removed (red if you can find them)
  • 2 skinny red peppers, like Serranos, trimmed, reserving only the pointed ends, scored at the bottom

    Classic margaritas get a spicy sizzle from hot jalapeño and Serrano chiles.

    Preparation

    In a cocktail shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices with the lime juice. Then add the ice and remaining liquids. Shake vigorously to combine.

    Position the Serrano chiles on the sides of your martini glass in the fashion of devil's horns. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
