- 4 cups peeled and sliced apples, preferably Gala or Honeycrisp
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
This recipe is extremely easy, can be prepared quickly and you probably have all the ingredients in your cupboard right now. Most importantly, it's delicious and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. What a great comfort food!
Preheat oven to 350 F.2.
Grease a 9-inch baking dish. Place the sliced apples in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle them with orange juice.3.
In a bowl, mix the oats, flour, sugars, orange zest and spices. Mix in the butter and mix it until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Sprinkle this mixture on the apples.4.
Bake, uncovered, for about 50-55 minutes.5.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
