Chef notes

We almost always have crackers in the house and using them to transform flaky fish into crispy finger food is a huge hit with the kiddos!

Technique tip: If you don't have a food processor, place crackers in a freezer bag and smash them with a heavy jar.

Swap option: If you don't have crackers, you could use breadcrumbs or panko.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound firm white fish such as cod
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (roughly 1 sleeve of crackers) or your favorite brand
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Tarter sauce and lemon wedges for serving

Preparation

1.

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2.

Slice fish into sticks, about 1 inch thick and 3 inches long.

3.

In a shallow bowl, stir together crackers, paprika and garlic powder.

4.

Dip fish sticks into butter and then cracker mixture, pressing gently to ensure they are evenly coated.

5.

Place on a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, until crispy and cooked through. Serve with your favorite tartar sauce and lemon wedges.
