Ambrosia Salad

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 can drained mandarin oranges
  • 1 cup drained diced canned pineapple
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup drained maraschino cherries

    While some might call this dish outdated, I call it a classic! This sweet salad holds a special place in my heart and on my entertaining table. It might not be as sophisticated as some of its modern counterparts, but it's always sure to put a smile on people's faces.


    Place heavy cream in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment (or in a bowl and use and handheld mixer) and whip until stiff peaks form.

    Fold in sour cream until evenly combined. Fold in marshmallows, oranges, pineapple, coconut and cherries. Place in a serving bowl and chill until serving.
