This just might be the song of the summer (okay, bit of a bold prediction on our part, but we're rolling with it) — and it's going to premiere on "Sesame Street." How is that possible, you ask?
Well, when heartthrob Nick Jonas is involved, anything can happen.
"C'mon, c'mon, let's count those sides," the 23-year-old singer croons in the pop track aptly titled "Check That Shape," released ahead of the show's May 21 episode air date.
But seriously, we're not just saying it: The song is actually catchy. So catchy, in fact, you might just find yourself sheepishly jamming out to it on your commute home from work, sans irony. Yes, you might be putting a "Sesame Street" track onto your house party playlist this weekend, folks.
With Cookie Monster, Bert and the Count by his side, Jonas transforms what could've been a dull segment about shapes into a smash hit single.

Sure, we're chuckling about the fact that Jonas parodies typical pop rhetoric by singing to these literal shapes as though they're women on a dance-floor ("There on the floor is a shape moving towards me..." he sings, before adding a few insightful observations: "It's not a circle and the shape's not a square," and "It's a shape that is so fine / Yeah, the shape drives me out of my mind / How it moves and how the shape slides").
But we're also LEARNING A LOT.
That shape is a pentagon, you guys. And that one ... that one is an octagon.
Unfortunately, the song's only two minutes and five seconds long, and Jonas spends much of that time waxing poetic about the shape moving toward him on the floor. That means we only get to learn about two shapes.
But, as this ever-popular children's show taught us long ago, two is more than one. We'll take it.
