Given his snub by the Golden Globes--Timberlake (aka Boo Boo the bear) failed to garner a nomination there for The Social Network--his Oscar chances really don't look all that strong anyway, dear.

However, here's what I can tell you, based on past epic fail performances by A-list contenders:

And that is, it matters not. At all.

The test case for that came recently--earlier this year, in fact, when Sandra Bullock won a Razzie award for her less-than-memorable work in the bomb All About Steve.

That was the same season that Bullock took home her Oscar for The Blind Side. Oscar watchers had predicted that the negative Razzie attention would hurt her--"The Academy is full of snobs," is how Goldderby.com guru Tom O'Neil reportedly put it to MSNBC--but, well, he was reportedly wrong.

But then, I would be remiss if I did not mention Eddie Murphy. In 2007, he was in the running for an Oscar for his supporting role as James "Thunder" Early in Dreamgirls. He surely deserved the nomination, if not the award.

Instead, Murphy lost, to Alan Arkin. And many pundits--movie bloggers and columnists, mostly--attributed that loss to another movie Murphy starred in right around the same time: Norbit. Norbit was an epic fail of fat jokes and misogyny, and critics were quick to slam it and cry high outrage.

So did Norbit really cost Murphy his Oscar? Possibly. But it's not like a bevy of Oscar voters emerged from their velvet-trimmed screening rooms to announce the reasoning behind their decision. Murphy may have made a poor choice.

So is Yogi Bear more of a Norbit, or an All About Steve, or an it-doesn't-matter? I go with option three.
