Will Nicole Kidman get a church wedding?

The actress, a devout Catholic, has had her marriage to Tom Cruise annulled so she can marry her sweetie Keith Urban in a religious ceremony, according to reports coming from her homeland of Australia.

“It is believed Kidman has been told she would be granted an annulment of her marriage to Cruise because that marriage did not conform to the requirements of the church,” according to Australia’s Sunday Mail. Kidman was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001.

As far as a future wedding to Urban, “the date hasn’t been set although June or July have been mentioned as possibilities,” a source told the Mail.

“I’ve never been told by Nicole that she is actually engaged,” Kidman’s Aussie spokeswoman told the Mail in dismissing the story. “If and when she marries again, I’m sure she will make some sort of announcement.” Kidman’s U.S. rep told The Scoop she has “no idea” if the story is true, adding, “I’m afraid [I've] never heard this before!”

Cruising in a gas guzzler?Speaking of Tom Cruise, he’s getting pressure from one of his leading ladies to drive a more environmentally friendly car. Thandie Newton, who starred opposite Cruise in “Mission: Impossible II,” sent him a letter urging him to stop driving a “gas guzzling” 4x4, according to the Sunday Times of London.

Newton herself is a former gas-guzzler lover, but became a convert after someone stuck a sticker on her BMW X5 that declared “This gas-guzzling 4x4 is causing climate change.”

“I loved my X5, loved driving it, and what’s more, believed it was safer for my kids, until I discovered the truth about its impact on the environment,” Newton’s letter to Cruise read. “As you know, extreme weather events are on the increase. The Greenland ice sheet is melting, and sea levels are rising. This climate change, which is largely brought on by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, seriously threatens generations to come. The hazards I thought I was preventing by driving an SUV are nothing compared to the hazards our children and grandchildren will face if more is not done now.”

Newton also sent the letter to Will Smith, Madonna, Kevin Costner, Ben Affleck, Meg Ryan, and other celebs, according to the Times.

None of the spokesmen contacted by The Scoop had any comment — but one, who asked not to be identified by name, said of the very thin Newton: “she should eat a grilled cheese sandwich and French fries.”

Notes from all overShakira says she once considered tons of plastic surgery. “Maybe my eyebrows should be higher. Maybe my lips should be bigger. But [eventually], I said, ‘Forget it.’ I’m not perfect. My fans will like me as long as I keep writing good songs for them,” the belly-undulating singer tells Teen People. But, she says, she’s more physically modest than most people realize. “It’s not my hobby to show my belly!” she adds. “The moves I do when I perform require it. People of America, I want you to know that I wear clothes once in a while! I’m actually shy.”  . . . Before Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons’ split was announced, she dismissed rumors that theirs was a marriage of convenience. “One thing my marriage is not is convenient,” she told Vixen mag. “I am inconvenienced! Russell and I have been together 14 years. That’s a long time — almost half my life.” . . . Even cowboy actors get the blues. “Brokeback Mountain” star Heath Ledger says that when he first started become famous, he was wracked with insecurity. Seeing his face next to the slogan "He Will Rock You" on billboards for “A Knights Tale” didn't help matters. “It freaked me out," he told the London Observer. “I was like, ‘What if I don’t rock ‘em?’” He turned down the role of Spider-Man. “I didn’t feel like I deserved it,” he says and described how he excused himself from the studio’s presentation and ducked into the men’s room. “And pretty much burst into tears. . . I was hitting my head, hitting the walls. It was a full-on anxiety attack.” Mondays through Thursdays on
