Jessica Simpson’s part on CBS's April Fools’ Day special, “I Get That a Lot,” was so well received she’s considering going for a dip in the reality show pool. And the former “Newlywed” is thinking about a show you might have heard of: “Dancing With the Stars.”

“Jessica’s fame skyrocketed when she was on ‘Newlyweds,’ and no other project has been the same runaway hit,” says a friend of Simpson’s. “She wants to be involved with something she’s really good at, and people love Jess when she’s just being herself. She never would have considered ‘Dancing With the Stars’ before, but she’s not ruling it out now.”

Even before “I Get That a Lot,” which attracted 10.3 million viewers, “Dancing” had become a passing curiosity for Simpson. “When she saw Jewel was going to do it, it made her look at the show in a different light,” says the friend.

‘The View’ gets a visit from ‘SNL’s’ BeharFred Armisen, or actually, the Joy Behar persona he takes on for “Saturday Night Live,” dropped by “The View” this week for an episode that airs April 3.

“View” costume designer Fran Taylor put Armisen and Behar in “the exact same outfit,” according to an on-set source.

Armisen, though gone from the studio, isn’t forgotten. After he left, cast and crew were all still repeating Armisen’s catchphrase for Behar, “So what, who cares?“

“It’s caught on like wildfire,” says the source.

Weekend box office This weekend’s box office prediction is one steeped in transparent, personal bias. So forgive and more importantly, please indulge me.

What should win at the box office this weekend is “Adventureland,” for the simple reason that it’s filmed largely in Pittsburgh’s Kennywood Park, the amusement park of my upbringing.

For all the bad press my hometown gets, it’s high time someone showed off one its best landmarks, and who better to do it than director Greg Mottola (“Superbad”) and a cast that includes Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Jessie Eisenberg.

It’s opening only on 1,862 screens though, so “Fast & Furious,” which opens on 3,462 screens is what will win. Look for “Monsters vs. Aliens” to stick around the top three, too.

You Twitter, I deliver: Nic Cage’s hair, ‘The City’The burning questions on the minds of the Twitterazzi: What’s the deal with Nicolas Cage’s hair and what’s the status of MTV reality show “The City?”

First, with regard to Cage’s hair — the hairline is one line I won’t cross. You’ll have to ask him yourself.

As for “The City,” MTV announced in January that it would renew it it for a second season, but as of right now there’s no official airdate.
