Simon Cowell's much-anticipated return to television now has an actual date.
The most debated judge on Americal Idol is kicking off The X Factor here in the U.S. with himself as a judge alongside LA Reid, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
So when do we get to see Cowell in action again?
The lover of too-tight tees will be back on the tube with a two-night X Factor premiere in September, when the singing competition hits the airwaves with a two-hour premiere episode on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
A second two-hour installment will air the following night on Thursday.
The show had its first taping in early May, and is drawing some big names, with Cowell announcing that Mariah Carey will have some sort of role on the live shows.
Cowell left Idol in order to bring his new show over to the U.S. with Brit TV host Steve Jones hosting the show.
Auditions for the new competition series kicked off in march in Los Angeles and further auditions were held in New Jersey, Miami, Seattle and Chicago.
Those vying for a spot on the show were also given the opportunity to submit a video audition through YouTube.
The winner will win a $5 million recording contract with Sony Music.
