'Talking Dead: Season 5 Preview Special'
When to watch: As it airs — why wait for a first look?
AMC will cap off a weekend-long marathon of "The Walking Dead" with a very special treat for fans who can't quite wait until October for a glimpse of what's to come in season five. Companion show "Talking Dead" will feature executive producer Scott M. Gimple as he prepares viewers for what's next from the zombie menace. (Airs 9 p.m. on AMC.)
MONDAY, JULY 7:
'Ice Road Truckers'
When to watch: Set your DVR, and watch whenever you need a dose of danger.
They're baaa-aaack! The daredevils of the frozen lakes are returning for yet another season of long hauls and big risks. All the drivers from season seven (save Joey Barnes) will be back to navigate the slick Manitoba landscape — well, as best they can. (Airs 10 p.m. on History.)
WEDNESDAY, JULY 9:
When to watch: In real-time — unless you want to risk spoilers Thursday morning.
If season one of "The Bridge" left you wanting more, then get ready. The both-sides-of-the-border police drama is back for a second season with more twists, turns, corruption and, of course, dead bodies. (Airs 10 p.m. on FX.)
THURSDAY, JULY 10:
'Welcome to Sweden'
When to watch: Catch it whenever you can!
A fun new series with a healthy comedy pedigree kicks off this week. "Welcome to Sweden" is created by Greg Poehler, brother of funnywoman Amy, and produced by both siblings. The story is based on Greg's real-life adventures as an ex-pat who relocated to Scandinavia to be with his bride.
There's a bonus reason to tune in: Both Amy and her "Parks and Recreation" co-star Aubrey Plaza are recurring characters. And keep an eye on this show for future guest stars, including Will Ferrell and Kiss frontman Gene Simmons, (Airs 9 p.m. on NBC.)
