With not one, but two wins at last night's People's Choice Awards, it's obvious fans took a shine to Adam Sandler in 2010.
But why did the funnyman show up with, well, a shiner?
Upon taking the stage to accept his award as Favorite Comedy Star (his other nod was for the movie Grown Ups), the actor offered up a very Sandler-esque explanation.
"I wanted to go see the Black Eyed Peas and the lady thought I said, 'Black eye, please,'" he joked to the crowd.
In actuality, Sandler reportedly sustained the injury while playing a game of hoops.
