What Advice Did James Franco and Daniel Radcliffe Give to Emma Watson?

Well, we could think of worse people to be taking advice from.

Well, we could think of worse people to be taking advice from.

As it happens, in addition to awesome clothes and healthy bank accounts, one of the perks of young stardom--at least in Emma Watson's case--is being able to be solicit guidance from those who've navigated through it themselves.

Enter James Franco and Daniel Radcliffe, whom Emma told Vogue she's turned to in her times of (relative) trouble. So what words of wisdom did they offer the Harry Potter star?

Unsurprisingly, jack-of-all-trades Franco shared his expertise on how to get an education (or 20) while continuing to work in Hollywood.

Watson told Vogue that she happened to meet with Franco briefly during the last year, while she was at Brown University and he was studying at the nearby Rhode Island School of Design.

"It was such a relief to speak to someone who is trying to do the same thing I'm doing," she told the magazine. "I talked to him about juggling studying and making films and going backward and forward. He's not afraid or limited by what he fears people will say about it."

Emma also revealed that she initially took a leave of absence from the Ivy League school at the suggestion of her advisors, who expressed concern over the Christmas break that she was overstretching herself with work and school commitments. She obviously took heed of their urging and will finish up her college experience back in England, reportedly at Oxford University.

"I have felt for the last 10 years I have had this battle; I've been fighting so hard to have an education," she said. "It's been this uphill struggle. I was Warner Bros.' pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult."

And while she appreciates what Harry Potter did for her, she acknowledged that it gave her a considerably different childhood experience than most.

"I have had no control over my life," she said. "I have lived in a complete bubble. They found me and picked me for the part. And now I'm desperately trying to find my way through it."

Luckily, she found her way through it with help from fellow costar Radcliffe. So what advice did young Daniel offer to Emma?

"We would help each other with relationship advice," he told Vogue. "Particularly funny were the moments when we would help each other compose texts to the most recent flames in either of our lives (not too flirty, but not too subtle either!).

"It was certainly a case of the blind leading the blind, but it was extremely funny."

She's unlikely to be consulting him on that topic anytime soon--Watson said that she is currently single, but prospective suitors, leave those headshots at home.

"I would love to not date someone in the same industry as me. Otherwise it becomes what it means to everyone else."

As for what's next for Emma, she's unlikely to go off the rails anytime soon, but don't expect the movie star to stay Little Ms. Perfect forever.

"I've probably earned the right to screw up a few times. I don't want the fear of failure to stop me from doing what I really care about."
