Solange Knowles and her son, Julez Smith, showed off some sweet moves in a choreographed dance they shared during her wedding weekend.
The 28-year-old singer and her 10-year-old son, from her previous marriage to Daniel Smith, tore up the floor Sunday to Rae Sremmurd’s “No Flex Zone” to the delight of her wedding guests.
While there was some room for freestyle, the 3-minute performance must have required a little mother-son rehearsal time, as evidenced by the synchronized Soulja Boy dance, brushed-off shoulders, and solo dance breaks. Top it all off with a hug at the end, and you have the kind of video that’s going to go viral (which it did).
The dance was part of an eventful weekend when she married 51-year-old music-video director Alan Ferguson, who’s collaborated with Katy Perry, Fall Out Boy, Solange’s sister Beyoncé, and Solange’s brother-in-law, Jay-Z.
Jay-Z’s wedding attendance appeared to show that he and Solange have made amends – or at least agreed to a détente – since the May 5 elevator incident that Beyoncé later downplayed in a subsequent song.
