The animated “WALL-E” and the documentary “Man on Wire” were the best reviewed films of 2008, according to the Web site Rotten Tomatoes.

The “WALL-E” win is the fifth time a Pixar release has been named best wide release film of the year by the site.

The thriller “One Missed Call,” starring Shannyn Sossamon and Edward Burns, got hit with the Moldy Tomato Award as worst-reviewed film. It didn’t generate any positive reviews.

Films were ranked according to their “Tomatometer” scores, which are based on the published opinions of more than 200 top film critics aggregated by Rotten Tomatoes.

“WALL-E,” earned a 96 percent approval rating, while “Man,” the top limited release, checked in with a unanimous 100 percent.

“One Missed Call,” on the other hand, scored 0 percent, the lowest score in the dubious honor’s history. The Warner Bros. release still finished with $27 million at the domestic box office after a better-than-expected No. 5 opening last January.
