A reality TV series based on "Pac-Man," the popular 1980s-and-beyond video game, is currently in is the works.
No, really.
According to Deadline.com, Namco Bandai Games America and Merv Griffin Entertainment are joining forces to bring a "Pac-Man"-themed, “Wipeout”-like competition to television.
"The idea we have is to take what 'Pac-Man' is and bring it to life, to bring what is essentially the world's biggest game of tag to television," Roy Bank, president of TV at Merv Griffin Entertainment, explained.
No word about pac-dot-chomping or costumed foes dressed as Blinky, Pinky, Inky or Clyde, but with the project still in the early stages of development, one can still hope.
