Season seven of "The Voice" may be over, but Blake Shelton revived his favorite part of the competition — taking fellow coach Adam Levine to task — in a new promo reel for "Saturday Night Live."
Shelton will serve as both host and musical guest on the next episode of the sketch comedy, and he couldn't resist the opportunity to rub the honor in his frenemy's face.
"That guy's such a punk," Shelton said with a menacing smile. "I actually have a message for you right now, Adam. Hey, Adam! Look who's hosting 'SNL' now, pretty boy! Hot shot. You silly mother …"
Ahem.
Tough talk, but don't worry about the Maroon 5 frontman. If history is any indicator, he'll return the insult volley, and then they'll be back to their bromance — as usual.
For fans of Shelton, Saturday night's episode promises to pack plenty of fun. And, of course, there's no bigger Team Blake supporter than our own Hoda Kotb — who just happens to have tickets to the rehearsal before the big show.
Kotb arranged to get the tickets in advance without knowing who was going to host. When she found out, she couldn't believe her luck.
