The untimely death of actor Paul Walker will not prevent the next entry in the "Fast & Furious" franchise from being released, series co-star Vin Diesel announced on Facebook Sunday.

Diesel said that "Fast & Furious 7" would be released on April 10, 2015, adding that "(Walker would) want you to know first..."

Production on the film, which was on hiatus when Walker died Nov. 30, had been shut down indefinitely, Universal Pictures revealed in a earlier statment. The film originally had a release date of July 11, 2014.
