‘The View’ isn’t wooing Cindy Crawford

Despite rumors, ‘The View’ is not planning to add the supermodel to its list of co-hosts. However, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson will be making their first visit since Rosie’s exit.

There were plenty of reasons to question the rumor about Cindy Crawford joining “The View.” For starters, isn’t it hard enough for the existing women to get a word in edgewise? Why add another to the mix? Would Crawford uproot her family from L.A.? And is the show really going to fire someone to make room for Crawford, who hasn’t expressed any explicit interest in hosting?

Well, tax your brain no longer. A rep from the show told me, “There is no truth to it. It is just a rumor that seems to have originated from (The New York Post writer) Liz Smith’s column.”

Smith wrote, “ABC is now hot on Cindy. They want her as a regular on ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘The View.’”

“The View” spokesperson had no idea where Smith came up with her musings on “The View,” but offered up the theory that it was somehow connected to the show’s announcement that Lisa Ling would be coming back to the show in March as a guest for the first time. That seems like an odd connection to make, but so far it’s the best we’ve got.

In other “View” news, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson are coming on the show together March 10 to promote “American Idol.” This is the first time the pair has made an appearance since Rosie O’Donnell was a host. If you recall, O’Donnell accused Abdul of drinking during the show and often lashed out against “Idol” for how it treated contestants.

“There was no way they were ever coming on again as long as Rosie was on the show,” said a source close to “Idol.” “She just wouldn't give it a rest. It wasn't going to happen.”

Timberlake, Gnarls Barkley video won’t air on MTV
If you want to check out the new Gnarls Barkley video, “Run,” which features Justin Timberlake, you won’t see it on MTV. Thanks to strobe effects in the video, it failed the Harding Test — the test that establishes whether a television image will trigger and epileptic seizure. Gnarls Barkley member Danger Mouse confirms to Billboard.com that there are indeed “issues” with the video.

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. on the "Let's Be Cops," red carpet, Selena Gomez is immortalized in wax and more.

“I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but we’re having issues. I think (the video) is cool. It works for me. But I’m not necessarily that easily seasick,” he told Billboard.com. “We can’t predict how people are going to interpret it.”

You can still see the video on some online outlets. Huffingtonpost.com has it here.

A girlfriend for Keanu Reeves?
Leading man Keanu Reeves hasn’t cozied up to anyone since smooching Sandra Bullock in 2006’s “The Lake House,” but according to an onlooker who chatted with OK! magazine, Reeves could have a new leading lady.

Reeves was spotted cozying up to actress Parker Posey at the Chateau Marmont on Feb. 25, according to the mag. “They were sharing a seat and sitting very, very close,” said the eyewitness from the Chateau. “It was probably the oddest couple I’ve ever seen.”

Posey’s previous significant others have included rocker Ryan Adams and magazine editor Thomas Beller. So far, there’s no confirmation from Reeves or Posey on whether the couple is, as they say, “just friends.”
