Update:In a nod to nerds everywhere, the headline has been tweaked by the headline writer to eliminate cross-pollination between "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" franchises. Apologies. Live long and prosper with those droids you're not looking for.
Pod races and lightsaber-ing are about to get a lot more intense. The 3-D version of "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace" is headed to theaters Feb. 10, 2012, Lucasfilm and Twentieth Century Fox announced.
The choice to add the 3-D treatment specifically to "Phantom Menace" comes from the studio's opinion that "Episode I delivers some of the Saga's most stunning and spectacular sequences."
What do you think? Are you a purist who wants no one to mess with the films, or are you excited to don some 3-D glasses? Weigh in below in the comments.
