The bassist for Irish rock group U2, Adam Clayton, has married his girlfriend of four years, Brazilian model Mariana Teixeira, reports the BBC.
The couple held a ceremony at a Dublin registry office Wednesday, despite earlier reports that they would marry in France.
On hand was fellow U2 member The Edge (David Evans), who attended with his wife Morleigh Steinberg, but there was no report that any other members of the veteran band were present.
Clayton was engaged to supermodel Naomi Campbell in 1994, but they called it off.
He proposed to Teixeira in Brazil during Carnivale earlier this year. They are expected to hold the celebration for their wedding with a three-day reception in France starting Friday.
