While Tracy Morgan is still on the mend following the collision that nearly claimed his life last year, he's making huge strides to return to the life and laughs he had before it happened.
And Monday night marked a biggie: The funnyman hit the stand-up stage again for the first time since the accident.
After his set at New York's Comedy Cellar, Morgan tweeted a photo of himself at the mic, along with the message that he's "picking up the pieces!"
It's a long-awaited return for the actor-comedian, and one he's been looking forward to.
"The fans have let me know, 'We can't wait for you to come back,'" Morgan told TODAY's Matt Lauer back in June. "I can't wait to make them laugh again."
He did that Monday night, and he's about to do that again.
Morgan returns to his comedy roots this weekend as host of "Saturday Night Live."
