Good morning from TODAY, but not from Studio 1A!
We kicked off the weekend fun early with a Friday morning broadcast from Universal Orlando Resort in Florida — with a view of our very own TODAY Cafe.
Speaking of the TODAY Cafe, our weatherman-and-more Al Roker gave a tour of the delicious digs.
He even introduced us to a brand-new menu item: Al’s Muffuletta — a deli sandwich that’s keto-friendly, just like Al!
Universal Orlando Resort serves as a playground for people of all ages with other restaurants, rides and various recreations at every turn. So, it didn’t take long for the TODAY gang to find a few favorites, including the scaled-down replica of our New York home, 30 Rock.
But even bigger thrills came when visiting the amusement park’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where everyone got a taste for the Butterbeer and hitched a ride on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.
And the TODAY family even brought members of their own families along, including Craig Melvin’s kids, Delano and Sybil, who had one of the park’s Jurassic baby dinosaurs named in their honor.
Friday’s fun wasn’t just about soaking up what the resort normally has to offer — we brought along some entertainment, too. Our pals Little Big Town sat down for a chat and stuck around for a Citi Concert Series performance.
And when it was finally time to throw it to Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager for some fourth hour festivities, they showcased even more of the food and delights Universal Orlando Resort has to offer.
Thanks for joining us for our mini winter vacation in the Sunshine State!
