The Los Angeles district attorney’s office says it does not have enough evidence to charge a choreographer on the FOX television show “So You Think You Can Dance” with sexually assaulting four of his students.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that police are investigating allegations that 41-year-old Alex Da Silva lured the female dance students into his bedroom and raped them in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
The salsa dancer, who teaches at several Los Angeles dance studios, was arrested Saturday and was released from jail Tuesday.
Defense attorney Harland Braun says some of the people with whom his client had sex “don’t understand the difference between being seduced and being raped.”
