‘Survivor’ sends two castaways home

One player was voted off to appease another, and the second player went home thanks to poorly played strategy.

The tribe has spoken — twice: Dave Ball was voted out at the first of two Tribal Councils, and he wasn't blindsided; he knew he was probably going to be voted out. Dave went home because Shambo wanted him gone, and after blindsiding her by keeping Dave and voting John out last week, the tribe decided to appease her. As Mick said, "let's keep the waters calm." That officially gave Foa Foa a numbers advantage for the first time in the game.

At the second Tribal Council, Jeff Probst asked, "Did Monica's scrambling pay off?" The answer was no: Monica Padilla went home because, as Russell explained, she was a "stupid, stupid little girl" with a "bad strategy." But he complimented her at Tribal Council and said "if she would have played that hard this entire game," she'd be in control. Ultimately, she was just another member of Galu picked off by Foa Foa.

Show off: At the start of Tribal Council, Russell stood up and put on the hidden immunity idol necklace. Earlier, he told us, "If I'm feeling any kind of threat whatsoever, I'll stand up and play it." But although he used it as a silent threat, he didn't play it. Then again, he didn't need to, since his tribe didn't flip on him.

Moving slowly: Mick told us that he sensed Russell is a big threat, and as a result, "There is definitely a part of me that wants to make a big move." Alas, he made no such move.

Wardrobe malfunction: During the second immunity challenge, Natalie was challenged by more than the challenge. While everyone struggled, Jeff Probst said, "33 days, clearly evident. Natalie really struggling — struggling just to keep her clothes on. Lost a lot of weight out here." Thanks for the clarification, Jeff.

Who?: Someone named Brett, who has apparently been hiding behind a tree for the entire season, was immediately targeted by Russell as a potential end-of-game threat, but then Brett won individual immunity and saved himself. Then he put his invisibility cloak back on and disappeared again.
