Jeff Probst has his sights set on daytime.
The "Survivor" host has inked a deal with CBS Television Distribution to develop a first-run talk show slated to debut in fall 2012. The hourlong show will cover topics ranging from newsmakers of the day to families and individuals facing challenges.

“There's no one else in daytime TV like Jeff Probst,” CTD president John Nogawski said. “He is interested in finding the answers to the same questions our audience is asking, which makes him relatable to both women and men.”
Probst has hosted all 22 seasons of "Survivor" since it debuted in 2000 and also serves as executive producer. He’s won Emmys for outstanding reality host in all three years the award has been handed out.
"Anyone who has seen Jeff on 'Survivor' knows how he connects with people and has an instinct that makes him a natural and compelling host for daytime,” CBS president of programming and development Aaron Meyerson said. “Whether it's a newsmaker-of-the-day, a celebrity or ordinary folks, Jeff will go further than typical discussion.”

Probst isn’t the only one who has thrown their hat in the ring for a daytime talker targeted for fall 2012: Katie Couric recently signed a deal with ABC, while Ricki Lake has a pact with Twentieth TV. And Bethenny Frankel is working with Ellen DeGeneres on a Telepictures-produced project.
Probst has experience hosting talk shows: He’s a regular fill-in for Regis Philbin on "Live With Regis and Kelly" and was a regular guest host for "Larry King Live." He also hosts the "Howard Stern Celebrity Fan Roundtable" for Howard Stern on Sirius/XM radio.
Probst also will continue on as host of "Survivor."
