“Jackass” star Steve-O, who just last week told the world he was in “,” updated his MySpace blog Thursday with a post entitled, “.” In the entry, Steve-O confesses the depths of his addiction and reveals the heavy hand his parents played in it.
“Mom was very alcoholic, and I feel that is a gross understatement,” the 33-year-old explained. “I’d love to say that I first took to alcohol out of affection for my mother (there was never any shortage of that for me) but I think the truth is that I was always powerless over it. I know I was always powerless over alcoholism, because it had such a grip on Mom’s adulthood and my childhood, and I never chose to fight it. Until now.”
In a shocking revelation he says he pieced together from “vague memories of being told stories that are similar or exactly the same,” Steve-O claims that his parents even gave him alcohol as an infant.
“Dad was a corporate executive whose job required the family to travel the world fairly extensively, and both Mom and Dad were quite self-conscious of how they were perceived by others. We were frequently on airplanes and, before Mom and Dad would find themselves in the embarrassing position of being caught by other passengers with a crying baby, I was fed alcohol.”
Though he’s attempted to lead a sober lifestyle before, first contacting Alcoholics Anonymous when he was just 18 years old, Steve-O insists that he’s committed to his current mission to give up drugs and alcohol.
“While I do have guilt issues related to past behavior, I am too excited about my future behavior and the prospect of becoming a healthy parent to let them remain an obstacle.”
Lauren Conrad talks betrayal
For Lauren Conrad, friendship and backstabbing go hand in hand. “The Hills” hottie recently spoke to about how she handles trust in relationships.
“I want to say I can always trust my good friends that I’ve had forever, but at the same time, some of my oldest friends have betrayed me,” L.C. confessed. “At this point, I have to question every person that wants to have a relationship with me, whether it’s a friendship or a romantic relationship.”
It’s not hard to image why Lauren’s a little friend-shy after her BFF and former BFF (Audrina Partridge and Heidi Montag, respectively) suddenly re-established gal-pal status right around the same time Lauren’s ex-beau Brody Jenner showed the world his new arm candy — talk about a double punch.
“Audrina has to remind me that she’s not someone who’s going to betray me,” Lauren told Us. After all, where Heidi’s concerned, Lauren’s gone back and forth with her favorite frenemy, too.
It’s a different story with Brody. “When you have that type of thing, you always have to question, ‘Why wasn’t I good enough?’ It’s disappointing to have to question relationships.”
Dish on the flyWhen asked to appear in George Clooney’s soon-to-be-released flick “Leatherheads,” Renee Zellweger didn’t need time to answer. “I heard George was making a movie and I said, ‘When?’” She explained to InStyle, “If he had asked me to make peanut-butter sandwiches for the catering, I would have said, ‘Crunchy or smooth?’” … She’s not pregnant yet, but Charlize Theron is ready to join the Hollywood baby boom with the help of boyfriend Stuart Townsend. “I couldn’t hope for my career to be going any better, and I have found the great love of my life in my relationship, so I think we’re ready to start having kids running around the house,” the actress told . “I’m ready to take on the responsibility of motherhood.”
