The good news: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt saved us the agony of living through exclusive coverage of a bridal shower, bachelor party and rehearsal dinner.

The bad news (if you’re feeling judgmental): they got married.

Us Weekly broke the news that the two eloped at the One & Only Palmilla resort just outside of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Nov. 20.

The two first became engaged in 2007, when Pratt bought Montag a ring at the mall (a diamond-encrusted platinum band with a purple stone) and then popped the question (this after just eight months of dating).

Times have changed, though. According to the magazine Montag “couldn’t stop crying” the minute after she said her vows, and speaking of vows, Pratt’s included phrases such as, “You are the light in my life like the sun to the earth … Being with you, I feel complete.”

This might be the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Mr. and Mrs. Pratt, but for purposes of this column, it’s the last. For any more news on the Pratt couple, you’ll have to hit your local newsstand. Now that Heidi and Spencer are off to wedded bliss, Scoop’s work is done here. Congrats, kids.

Jon Hamm’s hard-to-find GQ coverThere’s been quite a bit of noise surrounding GQ’s Men of the Year cover that features Barack Obama, and while most consider Obama worthy of the cover, some celebrities are griping that Obama’s cover is overshadowing the other GQ men of the year.

Which other men of the year, you say? That’s precisely the point. Jon Hamm, Leonardo DiCaprio and Michael Phelps were also granted the title — and the magazine covers to go along with it. However, it would seem at first glance that the vast majority of the magazines printed featured Obama, and not the others.

One of the three, in fact, had family members searching newsstands in the greater L.A. area and couldn’t find an issue that didn’t have Obama; conversely, many subscribers hoping for an Obama issue are receiving covers with Hamm, DiCaprio or Phelps.

Did GQ go for sales instead of keeping their celebrities happy? No, the magazine says. “They’re all equal. There isn’t an easy way to print more of one issue and get them in all in the box. It’s a quarter, quarter, quarter, quarter,” says a spokesperson.

As for which newsstands get which covers? “It’s totally random,” says the rep.

Just a break for Paris and BenjiIt might not be over for Paris Hilton and Benji Madden after all. After nine months of dating, Hilton tells Life & Style that they aren’t necessarily broken up, they’re taking a break.

“Right now we’re just taking a break,” she told the magazine. “We both love each other very much, and we’ll see what happens in the future. My work schedule is out of control, so it’s hard for us to have time for each other. It’s going to be really hard being alone during the holidays, but I’m lucky to have a great family.”
