So True? So False? Is Blake Lively Taking Over As a Young Carrie Bradshaw?!

Blake Lively is ready to walk a mile in the Manolos of one of the most iconic fashionistas to ever grace our screens. Or is she?

Here's the deal: Candace Bushnell has penned a second (yes, second) prequel to Sex and the City--this one titled Summer in the City, which follows Carrie Bradshaw as she moves, at 19, from Connecticut to New York--and producer extraordinaire Michael Patrick King is, according to Grazia, itching to redeem himself for the hot mess that was SATC 2 by bringing a younger, more inexperienced Carrie back to the big screen.

And Blake is apparently the only girl for the job.

Obviously, the Chanel ambassador and Gossip Girl star has both the sartorial heft and acting chops to pull off such a role, and we can't think of anyone better suited to play a younger version of Carrie. But we can't help but wonder...is it true? Cue the omniscient narration, because this rumor is...

So false!

So Mr. Not Quite So Big will just have to wait.

A rep for Lively tells E! News that any reports linking the Blakester to the next incarnation of Carrie &Co. are "totally false."

"She isn't involved on this project."

As of now, in fact, it's unclear if anyone is involved in this project, or if there's even a project to be involved with. However, Bushnell's just-finished novel certainly could provide would-be adaptations with more leeway, adult theme-wise, than her first prequel, The Carrie Diaries, which followed Carrie through high school.

After all: been there, done that, bought the Gossip Girl season one DVD.

In the meantime, for anyone still suffering from Carrie withdrawals, feel free to console yourself with a Magnolia cupcake. Or a hot pink marabou feather-covered Jimmy Choo. Your choice.
