Charlie Sheen filed suit Monday against the woman who was found locked in the bathroom of his Manhattan hotel suite last month, hours after she accused him of abuse in a nationally televised interview.
The actor's suit accuses Capri Anderson of extortion, saying she sought $1 million to remain quiet. The documents also call Anderson an "opportunistic pornographic film star and publicity-hungry scam artist" who is trying to cash in on Sheen's celebrity by making up a "sensational tale about being assaulted, battered and held against her will."
Earlier Monday, Anderson appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" and alleged Sheen used racial slurs and grabbed her by the throat.
Sheen's lawsuit claims the allegations are false, and that Anderson lowered her price to $500,000 on the eve of the interview. The lawsuit also accuses Anderson of taking a $165,000 watch from the "Two and a Half Men" star and locking herself in the bathroom of the hotel to conceal the watch.
The suit claims Anderson sought the $1 million to avoid her airing her story to prosecutors in Aspen, Colo., where Sheen spent 30 days on probation for a Christmas Day altercation with his wife, Brooke Sheen.
Phone and e-mail messages for Anderson's attorney, Keith Davidson, were not immediately returned Monday evening.
Sheen's lawsuit pre-empted a lawsuit Anderson said she planned to file against the actor for battery and false imprisonment.
In the "Good Morning America" interview, Anderson claimed Sheen offered her an unspecified sum of money after the incident last month at the Plaza Hotel.
Sheen, 45, was briefly hospitalized after hotel security reported he was disorderly and had broken furniture in his room. He voluntarily went with authorities for a psychiatric evaluation and was released from the hospital the same day. His publicist, Stan Rosenfield, said at the time that Sheen had an adverse reaction to medication.
Anderson told "Good Morning America" host George Stephanopoulos that she had been hired for $3,500 to join Sheen for dinner on Oct. 25. She called reports that she expected to be paid for sex "absolutely untrue."
She said Sheen became increasingly unruly as the evening wore on.

"It's hard to say, being that it was my first time hanging out with him, if it was normal everyday behavior for him," she said.
Anderson said that after dinner at a restaurant, she accompanied the "fairly intoxicated" Sheen back to his hotel suite, where "there was a little bit of romance, if you will."
But in the room Sheen became increasingly agitated, including making racial slurs she didn't specify.
He snorted a "white powdery substance," she said.
Sheen's lawsuit claims Anderson's version is fabricated in an attempt to seek fame and money. It seeks monetary damages, including $165,00 for the watch Sheen claims Anderson took.
