If "Sesame Street" can parody "The Hunger Games," they can most certainly parody J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings."
In "Lord of the Crumbs," Cookie Monster is distraught when he loses his "preciousssssss," which isn't a ring here, but a recipe for chocolate-chip cookies. By using his memory, and with the assistance of a golden-haired elf who keeps reminding him eating one's ingredients is not a good way to bring cookies back to Monster Earth, Cookie succeeds.
In the end, there turns out to be "one dessert to rule them all," and our furry blue friend is able to bake the cookies "in the fires of Mount Crumb," aka an oven.
"Lord of the Crumbs" will make a good appetizer while Tolkien fans await the second "Hobbit" movie, "The Desolation of Smaug," which opens Friday.
