Being able to play her music to huge crowds is the realization of a dream for singer Sara Bareilles, but another dream came true when she learned she was sharing a flight to London with actress Emma Thompson.
As the Grammy-nominated musician told TODAY Friday just before performing on the plaza, she discovered the two-time Oscar winner was on the same plane she was on in late May, and even tweeted about it at the time.
"It was sort of my dream state, like, what else would I wish to have happen?" she said. After that one true tweet, she also wrote that David Bowie was performing in the plane, and that Princes Harry and William were on board (false and false).
Now back in America, the "Brave" singer was visiting TODAY as part of a bookend to her long tour supporting her latest album, "The Blessed Unrest."
"I love being on the road," she said. "It is hard to be away from home ... you miss your bed and sort of the comforts of what is familiar, but no, I love it. It's getting to see the world through the lens of sharing music. It's a really beautiful experience."
