Tom Hanks is really ratcheting up his music video resume!
Earlier this month he starred in Carly Rae Jepsen's "I Really Like You" video, and this time he makes a brief appearance at the end of wife Rita Wilson's jaunty, joyous video for her new tune, "Girls Night In."
"I just was inspired by all my girlfriends and all the times that we've had parties at home," the singer/actress, who is currently starring on Broadway with Larry David in "Fish in the Dark," said during a visit to TODAY Tuesday. "You are completely uninhibited and nobody's there to judge you and that's what inspired the song."
The video is exactly what you might expect: Wilson and her gal pals (who include musician Sara Bareilles and Delia Ephron) gathering in a lovely apartment, dancing under a convenient disco ball, karaoke-singing to the tune, drinking wine and scarfing down cupcakes. When Hanks makes his cameo late in the game, he quickly makes a wise exit.
But wait! There will soon be another, special "fan video" for "Girls Night In": Wilson wants fans to send in short videos of themselves having fun with their own girls' night in, and it could show up in that soon-to-be-made second video.
