The Snake is back in his cage.

Notorious Survivor schemer Richard Hatch will be missing out on the live finale of Celebrity Apprentice, in which he's competing for charity, after surrendering Monday to U.S. marshals to begin serving a nine-month prison term in Rhode Island for tax evasion.

It looks like the courts have spoken!

"He turned himself in on time at about 12:30 p.m. today," David Remington, U.S. Marshal's Service spokesman for the District of Rhode Island, tells E! News.

This is the second stint in the pokey for the 49-year-old former corporate trainer and erstwhile nudist who made a last-ditch effort to appeal the federal judge's ruling so he could get his business dealings in order.

Hatch previously spent more than three years in jail beginning in 2006 for evading his tax bill for the $1 million jackpot he won on the inaugural season of Survivor, $350,000 he earned for a Boston radio gig and rent from a property he owned. As part of the terms of his probation, Hatch was handed three years supervised release and ordered to pay back that amount to Uncle Sam along with penalties, bringing the total to more than $2 million.

The former Tagi Tribesmen however stubbornly refused and came up with all kinds of excuses as to why he didn't cough up the dough, but it didn't wash with prosecutors who charged him with a violation and threatened further incarceration.

And last Friday, U.S. District Court Judge William Smith agreed with the prosecution's arguments. Chastising Hatch for making things more complicated than they need be, the judge gave the reality star an extra three months behind bars in an effort to make an example out of him.

"I have done EVERYTHING HUMANLY POSSIBLE WORKING TOWARD THE DETERMINATION REQUIRED TO AMEND THOSE RETURNS. IN THE MEANTIME, IT IS SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME NOR WILL MAY ACCOUNT PREPARE AMENDED RETURNS WITHOUT THE DETERMINATION FROM TAX COURT OF WHAT FIGURES ARE ACCURATE," Hatch lamented on his Facebook page Saturday...in all caps.

Consequently, should Hatch now catch the final episode of Celebrity Apprentice airing live on May 22, it'll be from his cell.

Guess he failed to hatch the right alliances.
