Rev. Schuller recommends ‘Da Vinci Code’

Thinks the film will provoke talk about religion

While some Christians have decried “The Da Vinci Code” as sacrilegious, one high-profile pastor is recommending the film.

The Rev. Robert A. Schuller, pastor of Southern California’s Crystal Cathedral and host of TV’s weekly “Hour of Power” program, said on Thursday’s “Inside Edition” he planned to catch a screening of the film later in the day.

While he said he doesn’t believe the movie, or the best-seller it’s based on, is historically accurate, he feels the film is good fodder for discussion.

“As long as people talk about ‘The Da Vinci Code,’ they’ll discover the divinity code of who Jesus Christ is,” Schuller said.

Christian leaders in China, Singapore, India, South Korea, Thailand and elsewhere have tried to get the film censored or banned.
