Actress Rachel Griffiths, best known for her role on HBO’s mortuary drama “Six Feet Under,” has given birth to her second child, People magazine reported on its Web site Friday.
Griffiths gave birth Thursday to a daughter at a Los Angeles hospital, according to the magazine. It is the second child for Griffiths and her artist husband Andrew Taylor. The couple expects to announce the new baby’s name next week.
A publicist told the magazine that Griffiths and her daughter, who weighed in at 8 pounds, are doing fine and the family is “extremely happy.”
Griffiths and Taylor also have a 17-month-old son named Banjo Patrick.
A telephone call to Griffiths’ publicist Friday was not immediately returned.
Griffiths plays former sex addict Brenda Chenowith on “Six Feet Under.” She won a Golden Globe Award in 2002 and has received two Emmy nominations for her work on the series, which is in its final season.
