Finally, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" fans have something to look forward to!

After months of news revolving around casting shakeups, including the departures of Christopher Meloni and B.D. Wong, and the significantly scaled back role of Mariska Hargitay, comes the sort of news fans can cheer — the “ripped from the headlines” variety.

As any loyal “L & O” viewer can attest, one of the best parts of reading about the scandals, woes and crimes that make up our current events is imagining just how those events would unfold as part of the engrossing plot-of-the-week on the procedural crime staple. Now it seems that fans who wondered how Arnold Schwarzenegger’s matrimonial indiscretions, secret son and high-profile split from Maria Shriver would play out on the show will soon get their answers.

According to TVLine’s Michael Ausiello, insiders have confirmed that an episode “loosely inspired” by the troubles of the "Terminator" star and former California governor is on the way. Just where the requisite sex-crime twist comes in is anyone’s guess. (Although Ausiello has a particularly good guess for those interested.)

The 13thseason of “Law & Order: SVU" premieres Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET.
