Nicolas Cage's son Weston was taken to a Los Angeles hospital Tuesday night to undergo a mental evaluation, TMZ reports.
The hospitalization reportedly stemmed from an incident that took place in a Hollywood-area restaurant, where Weston's trainer told him he couldn't eat something on the menu, and Weston reacted violently. TMZ reports: Cops showed up and told Weston if he didn't get on the ground they would tase him. Weston then complied. Cops put Weston in handcuffs but they were so worried he was unstable they strapped him to a gurney.
Sources told the site later that Nic Cage went to the hospital and plans to stay in Los Angeles as long as his son needs him there.
The Oscar winner himself made news recently for causing his own disturbance. Cage was arrested in April in New Orleans after a drunken argument with his wife.
