In a post-reunion appearance on Wednesday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Adrienne Maloof discussed how she and her husband recently helped embattled actor Charlie Sheen and how the “Two and a Half Men” actor is faring now.

On Jan. 27, Maloof and husband Dr. Paul Nassif received a troubling call concerning Sheen and their response assured he received medical attention.

“It was early in the morning and a woman on the phone was saying that she needed to talk to my husband,” Maloof explained. “I said, ‘Well, who is this?’ and she said, ‘I’m calling for Charlie Sheen.’ And I knew at that time this must be something important because it was about 5 in the morning.”

That’s when Nassif took the phone.

“The woman was saying that (Charlie) has stomach cramps — bad stomach cramps — and she didn’t know what was going on. So he said, ‘You’ve got to call 911 right away.’ He hung up the phone, and he just thought, ‘You know what? I want to make sure that 911 gets there.’ And that’s what he did. He called 911.”

According to the reality star, she and Nassif have been close friends with Sheen for years. He even married ex-wife Brooke Mueller in their home.

As for how Sheen is doing now that he’s out of the hospital and said to be undergoing at-home rehab, Maloof explained that the actor still has a long battle ahead.

“I think he's going to take it day by day," she told host DeGeneres. “He's going through a difficult time. I obviously feel for Brooke and his children. But it's going to be an uphill climb for him.”
