The wife of “Boston Public” actor Michael Rapaport has filed for a legal separation, court records show.

Nichole Beattie Rapaport seeks spousal support payments and joint custody of the couple’s two children, Julian, 4, and Maceo, 2.

Her petition cites irreconcilable differences as the cause for the separation. The two have been married since January 2000.

Rapaport, 34, played teacher Danny Hanson on the recently suspended Fox series “Boston Public.” He also has appeared in numerous films, including “Dr. Doolittle 2,” “The 6th Day,” “Mighty Aphrodite” and “Higher Learning.”
