Randy Jackson is no longer in it to win it. The "American Idol" judge said in a statement shared with TODAY.com that he won't be returning to the Fox singing competition after this season.

"Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on 'American Idol' I have decided it is time to leave after this season," he said. "I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life-changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures."

Jackson has been a staple of the show since it first launched in 2002, and is the only original judge who is still with the competition.

Fox declined to comment.

Earlier Thursday, The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed that Jackson is also no longer managing fellow "Idol" judge Mariah Carey. The superstar joined the panel this season -- along with newcomers Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj -- and it is unclear if she'll be back for the next.

The "American Idol" season 12 finale airs next Wednesday and Thursday on Fox.
