Dennis Quaid is firing back at ex-wife Meg Ryan for continuing to publicly discuss their divorce and his alleged infidelity during their relationship.
While promoting her recent film, “The Women,” Ryan told InStyle, “Dennis was not faithful to me for a long time, and that was very painful.”
The actress repeated the infidelity allegation to ABC’s Diane Sawyer, saying, “I just feel like every now and then you have to fill in the gaps for people.”
Now, Quaid has responded to Ryan’s claims.
“It was eight years ago, and I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship,” Quaid told The New York Daily News' Rush & Malloy. “Also, I find it regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce.”
The actor, who is now married and has twins with Kimberly Buffington, went on to say, “I, myself, have moved on years ago and am fortunate to have a happy, beautiful family.”
Quaid also squashed recent reports that his custody and visitation rights to his and Ryan's son, Jack, are linked to his sobriety.
“Meg and I have always had joint custody of Jack without any stipulations whatsoever,” he said.
