Puerto Rico's former governor says he plans to write a book about his four years in office — but not the corruption case that followed.

Anibal Acevedo Vila says he does not aspire to run for office again and that he is at peace with his new life. He told Primera Hora newspaper in an interview published Thursday that he works as a legal consultant.

It is Acevedo's first interview since a jury found him not guilty in March on charges related to allegations that backers used an illegal scheme to pay off more than $500,000 in campaign debts.

Acevedo said that if he writes about the case, it would be in the future.

He was defeated last November in one of the most lopsided elections in Puerto Rico's history.
