Going to bars and nightclubs might be what you and your friends would do during your first night's stay in L.A., but not the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been handling business since they stepped foot off that plane!

So what did their night consist of?

After landing at LAX, the Royals were whisked away by a Range Rover over to The Beverly Hilton hotel for Variety's Venture Capital and New Media Summit.

During this occasion, the duo discussed the U.K.'s upcoming technology innovations and new media, and also met with numerous digital representatives of different companies.

Once that was over, it was time for Middleton to make her wardrobe switch before attending an outdoor reception held at the British Consulate-General residence.

She went from the elegant lavender Peridot dress by Roksanda Illinic to a stunning "Maja" green silk dress by American designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

The event kicked off with an introduction by British Ambassador Sir Nigel Elton Sheinwald and featured guests like Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Gov. Jerry Brown and friend David Beckham.

The Duke and Duchess worked the crowd, chatting away with different groups of people, while other attendees enjoyed drinks and hors d'uvres at the tables (which were labeled after L.A. street names. So creative!).

All throughout the day, fans have been crowding the streets of Hancock Park near the house where Will and Kate reside during their visit.

But paparazzi beware! The LAPD is waiting for you.

"Our primary concern is to protect the rights and privacy of the residents as well as the safety of the royal couple upon their visit here to the United States," LAPD spokeswoman Mitzi Fierro told the Los Angeles Times.

"If they trespass on property where we have a signed trespass letter, they will be arrested immediately."

Tomorrow's itinerary includes a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo &Racquet Club and then a glamorous evening at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards.
