An indicted Hollywood private investigator says he won’t testify in his own defense during his federal wiretapping trial in Los Angeles.
Anthony Pellicano is acting as his own lawyer. His decision on Wednesday comes after days of speculation about whether he would take the stand. He previously told a judge he might testify.
The 64-year-old Pellicano is accused of running a criminal enterprise that illegally wiretapped the phones of the rich and famous to help his clients gain an advantage in legal and other disputes.
Pellicano and four co-defendants have pleaded not guilty to a variety of charges.
