Paris Hilton is very, very sorry.

The celebutante has offered a mea culpa to frenemy Lindsay Lohan for making light of her necklace-napping case in the promo for Hilton's new Oxygen reality series, The World According to Paris.

So how bad was the diss?

In a preview touting the show, which kicks off June 1, Hilton is seen hanging out with some homeless women. One of the women says she likes Paris' earrings.

"I'll give them to you for Christmas," Paris tells her.

Hilton then lets the woman try on the baubles on at which point the woman says she's going to give them to her sister in Oklahoma and tell her they are present from "Lindsay."

"I am not her. I am not Lindsay," responds Paris with a laugh.

"If I were Lindsay, I'd be stealing the earrings, not giving them away."

Ouch.

Lindsay is due in court on Wednesday to face a misdemeanor charge of theft stemming for allegedly jacking a $2,500 gold necklace from an L.A.-area jewelry store.

The promos have tweaked Lohan, who complained to the New York Daily News last week that Paris' crack was "mean."

And that prompted Paris to extend the olive branch.

"I apologize to Lindsay for the comment that I made," she told TMZ. "I was joking around but it was thoughtless and unnecessary."

This isn't the first time Lohan's had her feathers ruffled by a former pal. The embattled star was previously peeved with Gwyneth Paltrow for poking fun at her on an episode of Glee.
